    Thank-you!!

Man I just did not see that! Jeez I feel stupid now......

.....it was getting dark the other day when I ripped that all apart and I just did not see the geared slide, all I saw was casting and I was like WTF!

I'm seeing it now only because of the flash from the camera.....

If davesfarm has thought me anything useful, its that turning that gear with a screwdriver works great.

        It's alive!!! It's alive!!!

I (finally) got the slide rod to move down far enough to hear the fuel pump prime itelf.
        Bridged the solenoid.....VRRRRROOOOOOOMMMM!!!!!!
That engine roared to life, and boy does it roar with just an H-pipe for exhaust.
No rapping/knocking or anything bad like that. So it's in decent shape for 168k and sitting 18 months.

Is there any way to "prop" this dead air-ride up?
Like jack it up to extend it and jam a block of wood in there or something?
The car has the power to move itself, but it's underside was litterally on/in the ground. I had to jack it by the front bumper shocks to get clearance to get a jack under from the side, and then from there slip ramps under the front tires.

If I could get any kind of ground clearance I'm pretty sure this car could be moved around under it's own power.

there should be a manual fill shrader valve if you can get a compressor or air pig to the car

You mean like on/near the bag itself? Or in the engine bay?
I was told that all the lines were hacked when they parked it.
I'm pretty sure they did that in the process if getting the compressor and regulator for spares.

....also we do have an air compessor and generator, but the compessor is in a storage tent...in front of the F-I-L's 88 mark VII, I can get it out, but it'll be a pain.

There's got to be someplace between the rear axle and the body to jam some wood.

I think your right about the rear, it's the front that looks tricky.

If the lines are hacked, no amount of filling it will help. Jack the front up and you'll see the air spring behind the shock. Jam a block of wood in there somewhere. If the air spring is decent and its in your way, just remove it. Theres a small metal clip on the bottom that you just pop off, and the top rotates like 1/4 turn. There should be a small metal tab sticking up to keep the ring from rotating, just push it down ande tap the thing around. The spring will come right out in your hand. If the air line is still attached, and there are no plans to fix the car just cut it and the pigtail to the solenoid on top of the air spring. Don't cut it so close that the line can't be pulled out of the solenoid tho. Leave at least an inch just in case its needed as a spare.

I tell ya', mother nature really seems to have it in for me. It was nice last week, I get a week off, it goes to shit.
I have been stubbornly going at it everyday despite the fact that every time I head out to the parts-car it starts snowing.....and also it has been bone chillingly cold with a decently strong wind as well.

I really think I should wait for a break in all this before trying to get the car lifted up enough to get the H-pipe off. It helps that I have been re-assured that I have as long as it takes to get this done. But we shall see.

On a positive note, I got a spare window motor and doorlock popper out of it today. I actually got both window motors, but the driver's side one didn't work when I tested them.

I think the next thing I'll work on (unless the weather breaks) is pulling the accessories off. As far as I know the A/C compressor, PS pump, and alternator are good (I beleave the alt isn't that old).

The "kick" plates on the bottom of the door frames look pretty good, I'm thinking about pulling them....or are these not worth anything?

Well.........the weather broke a lil' bit today and I made a little progress.

The LSC actually moved under it's own power today. Unfortunatly there wasn't enough traction to get very far and I ended up just pulling it farward pretty much back where I started. It was kinda' neat seeing smoke roll off the rear tire...:smirk:

Oh, and as you can see the front end is "up" now. It ain't pretty, but I managed to stuff a pair of jacks in there. Not sure if I want to mess with the back as it is clearing the ground.....if not by much.
