    V8, running on 4

    My 5.0 HO Capri has been parked for a while, I needed to move it out of the garage temporarily this weekend and it barely ran. One bank of headers got hot, the other didn't. I am getting spark. There is a lot of popping & banging in the pipes, so it seems to be getting fuel also. I didn't have time to play w/it. WTF?

      If its a carb, dual plane sorta makes sense, but you'd see the outer cyls on one side and the inner on the other side running if half the carb had clogged. EFI, about the only thing that makes sense is a big vacuum leak on one side.

          What? You guys aren't psychic?

          You actually need information to make a suggestion? Sheesh.... LOL

          Engine is an '88 fuelie HO from a 'Stang, Maf, H/C/I/, Stick, Exhaust etc.

          Last time out drove 45 min to & from track & raced it no probs.

          Sat for about 2 mos.

            A small creature chewed the wiring to the injectors on that side.

              Good point I will check that, a squirrel ate the harness in my parents Explorer once....

                I won't even begin to go into what I had to deal with on the white GM yesterday.....

                The Yellow Capri is good. On one side of the dist cap, the hold down spring was dislodged. The spring is sprung. I reformed the spring & it is now secure.

                I surmise that when I was running it w/the cap loose I was getting a weak spark which loaded up the plugs to the point that they wouldn't fire. I installed used (but dry) plugs in the Drvr's side & it fired right up.....
