    tps?

hi, ive searched this forum, which has helped me a lot with my 88 grandmarq, and i found out topics about similar situations to mine, so i took it down to the tps being the culprit, however... when i put my dvm to the tps wires it reads out 2.5x! ive adjusted the idle screw but the minimun i've got was 2.25, can anyone suggest how to get it lower? thanks in advance

yeah, thats waaaaay off. does it look like you have the 'adjustable' or 'non adjustable' type? Some of them have a large slot for one of the screw holes, providing a wide range od adjustment. The normal 'non adjustable' ones you can only tweak about .5 volts or so.

If you have the non-adjustable Id try replacing it

if you havent yet, replace the tps.........check the voltage when you hook up the new one, somtimes you need to open the mounting slots a little to get it set correctly
