    the '84....

Well, the '84 went in today for all the improvements and maintenance things I have been wanting to do...

New "Double hump" trans cross member and trans mount
    tuneup--- plugs. wires. cap etc...
    coolant flush
    oil change
    u-joints
    a/c charge

Then first of next week it will get the "H" pipe and exhaust installed....

Then after that the new windshield will be put in...

Then I will be able to start driving it more often....

          Repairs done!!!!

Well, $370.00 later.. the car runs like a champ.. going in tommorow for exhaust... hopefully!

The U-joints were so bad he had to send the driveshaft out to the driveshaft repair place, to get the old u-joints out of the yoke!! The rear U joint was frozen in place on one of the axis.... so he didn't want to tear it up trying to get it out... and his press wouldn't budge it.... it was REALLY in there!!!

The car runs like a top, doesn't leak Power steering fluid,
          and runs great...
The front wheel bearings were also humming, so he pulled the front wheels, checked the bearings, and then repacked them for me...

I did notice tonight when I picked it up tho--- that it is shifting thru the gears real quick.... If you get on it... it stays in first until you let up on the throttle, then it shifts--- hard... then it goes to second, then third real quick.... and then OD right after that... I think the kickdown just needs adjusted??? Does that sound like the problem??? Hopefully thats all it is!!!! (No bushing in the TV linkage on these cars!) So I know it isn't that!

I will probably take it by the shop tommorow on the way to the exhaust shop to see if he can adjust it for me real quick....

Then next Monday it will get the new windshield.... Progress is a wonderful thing!!!
Next month.. A/C!!! (converting it over to R-134) Gotta stay cool!

          Tom
