    Temporary brake line fix?

Brake line broke under drivers door.
I know i need to replace all lines at the first sign of trouble, but i need to be mobile now and cant do it the right way just yet.

Any acceptable temporary fix (hopefully involving rubber line and clamps since i dont have the right tools to flare it)?

    thanks, Bill

I don't think it's possible without flared line and fittings . . the pressures are immense... well more than any rubber hose, even fuel-injection line, can handle, from what I'm told.

Digging through the numerous old threads, looks like some 3/16 line and a couple compression fittings would work for a while.

Is this the right sizes and all before i head out to the store?

also, compression or double compression and what is the difference?

      thanks, Bill

just gonna rent the double flaring tool

i'm just gonna rent the double flaring tool and try to fix it somewhat right.

i should replace the whole line, but it all looks really good except that 6 inch section above the frame so i'm gonna replace about 2 feet.

i've flared gas line for a propane fireplace before but never a brake line.

anything special i need to know?

are the fittings gonna be easy to identify?

                thanks, Bill

its all simple and easy to to, just make sure to slip the fitting on the line and in the correct position before you begin to flare the ends.
