    Mass Air Flow Conversion

Hey I couldn't find anything on convertion the speed density to MAF so I'll start here, has anyone done it? If so. Do we have a layout of what to do or if not can we make a step by step. I hav the maf sensor and ECM now for the wiring

yeah, I've done it. For wiring, I used this set of instructions:

http://www.lincolnsonline.com/tech/00077.html Stop reading at "Part Two" unless you're really concerned with cruise control and want to make it overly complicated. If you have an 86-87, your cruise will work anyway so you're good. The removal of the cruise control wires on an 88-89 is the same as the Mark VII stuff mentioned there.

You need the mass air pigtail to connect to the sensor itself, and wires long enough to reach the ECM, as well as a couple of pins for the ECM if you don't have that stuff already. Also need the means to install the MAF in the air intake plumbing, the MAF itself, and the proper ECM. Basically just follow the directions and it works. I did mine using a spare harness, just in case I screwed it up but it worked out fine.

you can buy the MAF harness or buy an entire kit.
both come with very detailed instructions.

I suggest working on some searching skills!

It's simple, same as doing a mustang MAF conversion. And as always, unless you are doing some crazy motor it's not needed. Another very common suggestion is to buy the "How to understand and modify ford fuel injection" by Charles Pobst. It's got the wiring diagrams for every ford EFI motor.

I have a MAF conversion kit I bought new last year that I have decided not to use, if you are interested. It has fairly detailed instructions and is very complete. Send me a PM if interested.
