It might be a little much for my mom, but I think she'll get used to it. She gets mad when people pass her on the right at a stoplight. Now she might be able to do something about it lol. Hopefully this deal works out, if not, I'll look on E-Bay and start saving up a little bit more $$$.

Check out the Comp 35-421-8 while you're at it. On Desktop Dyno anyway, it makes excellent streetable power with good heads. I'm quite seriously considering it for when I resurrect my 351.

Thanks for the suggestion! I was considering an Exlporer cam. I figured that I was also going to call Comp Cams and see what they suggest as well. I will definitely look into that.

The Hydraulic Roller Retrofit cams are neat, because you can reliably run OE 5.0 lifters and retainers without doing anything except drilling and tapping two 1/4-20 (?) retaining holes in the lifter valley.

A guy on Corral.net swears you really can use a stock (under .450 lift) 5.0 cam with stock 5.0 lifters in a nonroller 351 block, but he seems to be very much in the minority.

The usual route when using a factory-base-circle hydraulic roller cam on a nonroller 351 block is a fancy set of linkbar lifters, but those go for a lot more than the retrofit camshaft if buying new. And the simulated power curves from the particular profiles in the retrofit lineup just plain look good.

I've been keeping an eye on a couple local F4TE engines. After the weekend, I'll see what kind of funds I have left and I might try to acquire the 351W.
