strange hot rod rumbling?!?! when in OD D 1?!?!

HAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!! I DID IT!! i adjusted the tv rod!

your absolutly right gadget73! that was my problem to begin with. the hoses were in the wrong spots like you mentioned. which in turn the car ran like shit. when i switched them i got better results. yes, i had to use another map sensor. the oringal one died and i switched between the two to confirm it.
I also got under the car after work and adjusted the Tv rod located near the transmission. i used the driver seat to push a sqeegee on the gas pedal for wot. i used a vicegrip to lossen the screw that held the adjuster. I adjusted the tv rod closer to the engine. the drive home from work was nerve recking! when i applied pressure to the gas pedal the transmission reved up but the car didnt go as fast. Just about 30 minutes ago i went under the car to adjust the tv rod. i pulled the adjuster away from the engine. when i took it for a ride, the car ran great! no jumps, hesitation, jerks, or problems. the car kicked down with ease when i wanted to go faster! DUDES IT WORKED!! the car runs better!!

sounds like an issue im having as well but what do with it mine being efi?, also i read anotherr post about what could possiably my distro being half shot as well

If it runs normal with no vacuum on the MAP, but runs shitty with vacuum, the MAP is probably shot. Same MAP and same function on his CFI car and your SEFI car. They also tend to fail the same way if they're gonna. Its usually a really reliable part, but they're all pushing 20 years old at this point.

They don't fail often. Grab one from the junkyard for testing if you think yours may have gone to pot.
