Here are some of the outstanding features of this unit: CNC machined to provide exacting tolerances and fit • Quad bypass filter design assures no unfiltered oil reaches the engine • O-rings on all sealing joints • Duplex woven deep pleated 45 micron stainless filter element • Easy maintenance cleanable s/s filter element • Magnet in base to collect tiny particles. • This is not only a terrific filter for high buck race engines but also adds a touch of class....and protection...to street rods and street machines. This filtering system is vastly superior to standard paper elements that have to be replaced every few thousand miles. This is the last oil filter you will ever have to buy for your vehicle.

that would be ok on a race engine that get's 100 passes between oil changes but on the street no. with 46 microns that's a lot of crap getting bu the filter and getting embedded in the bearings. maybe if you had an expensive bypass filter that would be ok but not full flow...

I'd avoid this filter for one simple reason - I personally tighten filters real good, so good in fact that I need a big lobster-clamp wrench to take them off. In the process of doing so I usually destroy the filters, I do not feel bad about it cause I'm putting in a new one anyways, but with a fancy aluminum canister arrangement like this I'd be seriously concerned about damaging it upon removal for washing out.

The main interest of these kind of filters is to save on steel by simply changing the filter part once installed. All BMWs and Volkswagens have this type of filter mount (messy oil change).

Yet the price of Your filter unit is outrageous.

Considering that a standard replacement filter costs approx 1.9 to 4.6 dollars, if hypothetically You changed Your oil once year, it would take over 15 years to make this investment profitable (assuming the frame and seals don't break down before).

So there is only one thing to do:

              FORGET ABOUT IT!

yeah, I'll throw my hat in as another guy who has had to change cartridge-style oil filters and would never subject myself to it on my own car.

Heck no. When I bought the wife her Fusion, it had one of those cartridge type oil filters. That got old in a hurry, so I swapped the oil filter housing mount out for one that uses a canister....oil changes are a breeze now.

50 years ago, manufacturers went away from cartridge filters to spin-on types for a reason. They leaked, and they were generally a pain in the ass to maintain since you had to change or clean the filter media all the time. A spin on you just remove and replace. I find it completely amazing that manufacturers are going back to that old idea, and people are finding out once again why it sucked.
