I've had Flowmasters. Sounds like stock quiet with catalytic converters, with maybe a slight burble. Way too expensive for stock quiet.
I've had Dynomax Super Turbos. Sounds like stock quiet with catalytic converters. No burble, no nothing. Just plain quiet.
I just put on Thrush Glasspacks #24200. Slips right into the stock muffler location. Sounds great with catalytic converters.
Not too loud so that the fuzz will leave you alone, and as my buddy said, now your cars sound matches the wheels.
And they flow ALOT better than the 2 above, plus I've picked up about .7 mpg.

hehe ... you must have basically a stock dual exhaust under there. Not that I know much, but so far it's seeming that Super Turbos on 2.5" exhaust is really quite loud.

I did have a similar experience, though, when I put a Flowmaster 50 Series Delta Flow on the wagon's stock single exhaust. It was pretty much stock-quiet with the tailpipe installed, quieter than the generic replacement muffler I had just returned to the Ford service department. I ended up removing the tailpipe so I could hear the muffler a little better (I was 19, can you tell?), but then I discovered it droned just a tiny bit if I let the car shift into OD at 45mph (as it liked to do before I learned how to adjust the TV cable).

well i went with a flowmaster copy a year ago and it sounded basically stock so I just decided to go ahead and pay for the 2 real flowmaster super 44's and it was worth it for sure. In my vid link a few posts up you can tell that it sounds tons louder than stock and pretty mean and thats still with all 4 cats... but its dumped at the axle to. The super 44's have come allong way from the droning, poor flowing 40's so just keep that in mind.

If you go with glasspacks i'm sure she'll sound good, can't wait to hear some vids bud!

I'm sure the tail pipe vs. No tail pipe makes a huge difference.
