Power steering pump rebuild AKA new seals

So my power steering pump has been leaking like a muther. I made a thread about replacement one, but couldnt find it. Anyway instead I just bought a seal kit today since the pump is still good and its just leaking. Any expirence with this helpful tips or hints for replacing seals before i get started?

its a strait forward thing to do.. most pumps have seen only have been leaking from the reservor, where it seals to the pump, or where the pressure line goes through it.. just be careful not to crack the reservor.. i have used rtv to seal them up even. i have never had to replace a seal on the shaft so i cant say anything about that..

Damnit haha, the one thats leaking bad is the shaft. But regardless like you said it seems pretty straight forward press off the pulley, pick out the o-ring and put the new one in.

Well is it a regular seal on the shaft? of a O ring? because if its a press in tyle seal, u can use a self tap screw to get it out.. i did that on a steering box.. just run the screw in a bit , maybe two of them, and pull on the screws..

mine's leaking like hell too. I think I'm gonna just replace it with that heavy duty Thunderbird one and be done with it.
