Car is going in the morning for a new oil pressure sending uinit... light went on last night, scared the poo out of me! It stayed off tonight when I started it up... (Drove my room mates car to work again, just in case...) And the light went out... No lifter noise or anything else, so it is probably just the sending unit... So I got a new sending unit... will be going in tommorow morning... we are going to check with a mechanical gauge, also before we install the new sending unit... I have the extension for the gauge sending unit... but it still hits the oil filter, as the end is straight, not angled... So until I get one... I will just have to put the idiot light back in... Also going to get all of the engine adjustments made in the morning.
Then having a shift kit / filter / fluid change done... Then it should be ready for Chicago!

Ivan discovered the secret to using the straight extension: point the sender downward under the PS pump. It clears fine that way.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

The exhaust is the same... duals all the way back, "H" pipe... with two turbo mufflers to give it a little rumble... (Probably about the same as a mustang rumble) I had to replace the exhaust about 5 years ago...

Got a few things adjusted today... Got the new oil sending unit installed, got the exhaust pipes re-adjusted... (they were hanging down too far after we put the pipes back on...) Goes in first thing tommorow for the shift kit install... Then replace a seat insert Monday at the upholstery shop, and it should be ready to rumble in Chicago!

Well, today was an eventful day! First. I went to the transmission shop and had the shift kit put in... while there, the tech found the PCV valve hanging by it's hose, dangling down beside the transmission! So he plugged it back in, and the car of course died... because we had everything set so it would run with a HUGE vacume leak! So once it got plugged back in, the computer compensated... So I bumped the timing back up, which made it drive good again, but I could tell the distributor was a tooth off... since I ran out of "room" with the thermostat housing... before it was where it should be... Also had to idle the engine back up with the idle speed screw... So I took it to the other shop I use, since the other guy was slammed today... He found that is was actually off by TWO teeth! So he reset the distributor, and set the timing with a light, and then put a tach on it and set the rpms... it runs GREAT!
Only problem remaing is a slight hesiitation, almost like a small engine miss... maybe we fouled a few plugs slightly when we first started it up... When we had the old injectors in it.... (It was running BADDDD) The exhaust was making our eyes water... like when your around an engine on nitro... Guess I'll pull some plugs Monday and see what they look like... (Gotta work all weekend... or I would do it sooner!)
Tom...
Once again, Scott, and all that helped with ideas.. thanks for all of the help!
