Anyone ever mod a LoPo upper intake+TB?

This is probably a lame question, but it's been bugging me.

Has anyone ever tried boring-out the TB ect. on a LOPO and putting in a larger throttle-plate?

Seems like there are probably more than a few of these laying around from people who did the HO swap.

There is a guy I know of that does bored out TB's (Dan the "Fastman" Arcand).

I bought one of his bored out TB's for a 4.7L dodge ram I had and it worked great.

Makes me wonder what he could do with a LOPO TB/EGR spacer/intake.

Best part would be that the linkage would be 100% correct.

    Good idea? .....Bad idea?

Waste of time, since 2 minutes with an HO TB and it fits on a panther, the HO intakes are free. And the linkage is 100% correct. I'm also pretty sure you cannot bore the stock one out that far because of the way its cast.

One guy did port the upper intake, supposedly it worked well, but most of his stuff was too good to be true.

        Ahhh well......it was a thought.

Having never swapped in an HO intake before, perhaps it just seems to me like it is harder than it actually is. (?)

Guess I'll never know till I actually try it.

Its really not a big deal to swap it. I can imagine a lot more effort involved to machine out the stock throttle body and install larger parts than it is to grind off the lever and do a quick spot weld on an HO unit. Its one of those things that sounds like a big deal until you do it, and then you wonder what the fuss is all about.
