    My engine

The new engine is in at Advance... Going to TRY to get it in the car Thursday.... Here is some pictures....

I have also gotten the following parts to go in with the new engine.

    Motor Mounts
    Radiator (Three row, NOT aluminum!)
    Plugs, wires, cap, rotor button
    Fan clutch
    Belts
    Hoses
    Starter
    Alternator

    Eastwood Products:
    Ceramic exhaust manifold paint
Chassis black paint for crossmember etc...

Also going for a shift kit the week after we get the engine in...

I'm going to be taking the brackets mounts etc and cleaning them up as we take the old engine apart, and painting them... I'm also going to detail the engine compartment. So when the new engine goes in, it will look new...

Now if I can get off from work Thursday, Friday, and Saturday!

Yes, and I can't wait... Of course, work pulled a CPR class on me for Friday afternoon... So I guess it will be next week sometime, if I can swap a shift with someone, so I can be off three days in a row...

the only advice I have is if the gasket kit has cork gaskets, as most of the cheaper sets do, throw them in the trash and use one piece rubber gaskets.
valve cover, intake and oil pan gaskets should all be one piece rubber.

The engine is going in Friday and Saturday.... Went yesterday and spent another $196.00 on parts to make sure everything is right!

Oh, and I am going today to partially open up the wrap on the engine, to check the gaskets... if they are cork, I will be replacing them with the rubber ones....

No--- 5.0. Work delayed my class, so it is going in this weekend. With all of the new parts going on the car, it should be a pretty quick swap... Of course, some of the detailing will take a little time...

What is the correct color for the engine? I know the 351 was grey. Is the 5.0 the same?

I thought I answered your question, but I guess I forgot to hit the "enter" button.... The original colr for the 5.0 is black... The engine is painted sort of a grey color right now... it will get repainted before I put it in... And i will be taking ALOT of "blasted" pictures!!! I am even charging my extra camera battery up.... And I "dumped" the memory stick so I will have alot of space to put new photos on...

I have to go home tonight and get all of the parts together... and load them into the car!
                            Tom...
