That's not the right answer. The right answer is "Okay."

Your only option is to ignore him. If this keeps up, I'll close this thread.

I would think purchasing and setting up the computer would be a lot more trouble than adjusting a cable, but then, I'm one of the weirdos who actually like TV cables.

+1. The white is very original. Those intakes are badass too, with the exposed tubing. Should be a gnarly ride.

I think a third pedal and a floor shifter would be ok too. But, for a big car I think its hard to beat a stout automatic transmission. TV cables aren't my favorite thing... I thought about a constant pressure TCI valvebody, but you still have to retain the cable to alter shift points. Seems a little screwy to me.

for now, what im going to do is take a truck 351 with e7 heads and drop it in with a mass air setup just with some 1.7 roller rockers, headers, exhaust, and a gt40 intake with the 19lb injectors and get it all setup and running in the car first. that way ill know if there are any other problems with the motor before i start modifying it, and spend more of my money into the rest of the car for now. and i might just leave it that way if i like it. the truck motor stock has 210hp and 315 ft lbs so with these few mods maybe add another 20hp and 20ft lbs, sure beats the 160hp 270ft lb lopo motor. im assuming my fuel pump will need upgrading even for a lightly modded 351?

Is that really all the standard truck 351s were rated at? Man ....

Better horsepower than the 2V cop motor, though.

Stock truck 351w are insanely choked on the intake and exhaust. Stock pump will feed it. Fed the one in my truck just fine.

yea thats really all they were rated at, they had some bad choke points, the exhaust was the worst, some points of the y pipe on the trucks go down to 1 7/8"

                  very true.

some people claim 40hp from a complete exhaust with headers, but i dont know how true that is, ill see for myself. the gt40 lightning intake should help alot too. i found a 95 f150 at the junkyard with mass air that ill grab the harness and computer from to use on it. need to find myself a good condition motor first tho.

Good luck with this! Like I always say, I know firsthand how much streetable grunt a very mild E7-headed 351 can have, and it's fun!

That reminds me, I hinted in my Reader's Rides thread that I would post pics of my stock-appearing 2.5" tailpipes I put together yesterday ....

The y pipe really isnt that bad on them. The killer is the intake and those tiny exhaust manifolds. I swear they are worse than the ones that come on boxes.

ive seen the y pipes to be a cork, but you are right about the manifolds, they are downright horrible, i cracked one on my f150 not long back, then went to take out the rest of the bolts holding it on and it came off in about 4 pieces. ill be ordering some bbk shorty 351 swap headers though, and the whole exhaust will be custom made after the motor gets fired up. it will deffinately be a big improvement over the lopo 302 thats in there now, especially when i add some better rear gears.

the wiring is going to be the biggest mess, but it shouldnt be that bad

anyone want to guess what kind of power ill gain from: shorty headers, true dual exhaust, 1.7 roller rockers, gt 40 intake manifold w/65mm tb, and a custom cold air intake, and ill do a little porting on the exhaust side of the heads.

im thinking 2 1/2" duals would be better?, i just got a pair of 2 1/2" flowmasters for free so i might as well use them, going to go catless as well, hopefully it isnt too loud.

I'm on the way to getting my 2.5" quietish, I think. What mufflers are you running?

Just posted pics of my exhaust: http://www.grandmarq.net/vb/showpost...&postcount=118
