I was actually talking to the local installer here and he told me about a guy that came up from Ohio or something with an 11' camper, and towing a huge boat on his '69 Chev pickup. He had a propane tank mounted to the front bumper and got pissed when this guy wouldn't fill the truck. You can't legally get propane here unless you have a certified system and a huge tank on the bumper in a big NO. You hit something with that rig and everyone is good as dead.1990 LTD Crown Vic w/ dead 5.0

Small update, not much new... TFI swapped out with a known good '90 tempo unit that I had down back and that made no difference, nor did the coil. Other then bad wiring all I can think that might be wrong is the distributor itself.
I just scored another 302 from an '87-'91 style F-150 as well as the AOD and it had the 8.8 diff so I will be grabbing the gears as well. No idea on gear ratio or year yet as the truck is caved in on the left side, but hope to see E7 heads on this engine, doubt it but I wouldn't mind.1990 LTD Crown Vic w/ dead 5.0

Well, E7TE is literally an '87 truck head, so that engine should have E7 heads. Pretty sure the roller truck 302s used a Crown Vic cam.
I hate it when the diff tag is gone. However, if you read the part number off the ring gear and look it up, that ought to tell you the gear ratio (no point, for example, in pulling gears that are the same ratio you already have!).2012 Mazda5 Touring | Finally working on the LTD again!

That is true. I will assume the truck will have much lower gearing being a supercab long box. I would expect that a 2.73 gear wouldn't even have been an option in a vehicle that heavy and geared more towards hauling. As for the tag... I completely forgot to look at that. Maybe I will run up there and see if it is still there.1990 LTD Crown Vic w/ dead 5.0

Well, the truck is an '87, and it has 3.55 gears and an open diff. So, no Limited slip but oh well. I have now dropped another distributor in it, again, no change.
What I have done/checked so far...
Checked Codes, none.
KOER, no codes
TFI
Coil
Distributor w/another TFI unit from the other engine
Checked fuel pressure
The only things I have not yet tried are the ignition switch and I can't remember what else at this second.1990 LTD Crown Vic w/ dead 5.0

300 6 would be nice with the 2.73 rear though, it has the torque to make that a non issue. Sort of anyway. Most all the 300 powered ones I have had were 4.10 rears though.1990 LTD Crown Vic w/ dead 5.0
