    Weird Starting issue

The vic has recently been starting weird....It usually does when Ive been driving a lot or just when it wants too....The problem is when I start it the motor idels real low for a second and seems to want to die out but the idle rises and its fine or ill give it a lil gas and its fine but I usually dont need to because it rises back to normal..Is it getting too much air or what ?

New fuel filter...K&N fiter...MSD Street Fire coil...Tune up isn't due until July so that should be fine and fuel filter isn't due until July....

Sounds like a dead or stuck IAC. Try cleaning it out.

The IAC valve is located adjacent to the EGR valve. It's got a plug sticking out the end of it. Unplug it, unbolt the valve, and spray carb cleaner in it. Let it dry and bolt it back into place. If you destroy the gasket, get a Fel-Pro intake gasket set from NAPA or some place like that and there is usually one included with the set.

Cleaned the IAC out and put a new gasket on last weekend and the car dosent hesitate to start anymore...but I was wondering If its normal for my car to be at a high idle when I first start it in the morning and then after a couple seconds it idles down....to me its normal becaus ethe motors cold, but some tell me otherwise....?
