First off, sorry for the non geo post. Just thought this could help someone.
Finished the HO swap today that the previous owner started. On first start up it started very easily and idled fine. I got out of the car and it began detonating a few times but before I could shut it off it smoothed out and ran great.
I know a lot of you guys have done the swap but looking through previous posts and even the sticky revealed a few questions that seemed to have no answer.
1. A HO motor will run with the lopo 14lb injectors, stock wiring harness, and lopo ecm. A few cyls will inject at the wrong time but it idles smooth and runs without a problem.
2. 1990 Town Car's came stock with E7 heads. Or at least have the same spark plug threads. I ran across two 1990 Town Car's at parts galore and both had the same heads I have.
3. A HO motor will not run with lopo 14lb injectors and a HO ecm. It will rev fine but it stalls at idle but never back fired or knocked for me. I did not drive it this way, only tested to see if the ecm actually worked.
4. I have the stock fuel pump and it seems to run fine.
Now a question about #4. Do you guys think I would benifit at all by swapping out the stock pump for a walbro f20000169 (255lph) that I have sitting around?
Thanks.
