    AOD Final blow.

Well, I'm going to outright appologize for the size, but I figured it would show the carnage better. And keep in mind that 2 months ago I changed the fluids and the pan was spotless when it went back on.

I inspected a piece and it looked to be the carburized surfface of the planetary gears. My Dad came out to inspect it as well, but he came to the same conclusion :-(

This is how it looked from the begining, looks nice and inocent don't it?

And then the truth come out!

So to add to the list of things I'll have soon, a wide ratio AOD is in order here. Thats my recovery.

        Teh Suck!
I hate when shit like that happens. My trans let go 8 miles after putting a new motor in the car. I wasn't really planning on that, but things worked out for me and I ended up with a good price on a fairly recent rebuilt one. If I'd had more money and time I probably would have gone to a wide ratio trans.

No, the 3.73s are sold, but the 3.55 is going in, along with the TrueTrac differential I ordered monday....before I knew I was going to have to come up with another grand.

If you have the 3.55's and the wide ratio AOD, the one that comes out on top of ours race at ScottFest will be the one with the most power. It's about an equal of a race as you could get :headbang:

Except the weight advantage I have. You carry around a bit more poundage on that thing. To be honest, I'd say we are prolly even in power, if not you a little higher. But I do hope I get to go. I'd love to take it on the track against the Phazer set to kill.

Well, I know mine has 2 reasons for dieing on me. 1: I do drive hard, though I never nuatral bomb. 2: 270,000miles on it.

I'm workin on getting it there still. But I'm finding it hard to get a tranny in such short notice. Especialy a good deal on a HI-PO one. I have to get a converter too. I want the stock stall rating, but I would settle for 2000.

A wide-ratio AOD is a AOD with the gearset out of a 4R70W it gives you a lower 1st and 2nd gear with 3rd gear remaining the same and a slightly lower OD.
