cant really get any good money for toasted cats either.. you sure it isn't just the heatshield? i remember mine making some racket when i first got the car and i just peeled the heatshield off.Give a man a fish and he will be fed for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will promptly forget that he once did not know, and proceed to call anyone who asks, a n00b and flame them on the boards for being stupid.

Pretty sure they're dead, drivers side is partially clogged, back pressure at tail pipe is weaker than passenger side, and I think that's not as strong as it could be either. Out of curiousity, where's that damn platinum in the converter?

In the honeycomb brick like thing, the part thats probably broken up and melted in yours. Its part of the alloy used to make the converter.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

no idea what else is in a converter, probably all manner of nasty shit. The amount of platinum in a converter isn't very great, but it happens to be a very valuable metal. The brick itself looks like a ceramic, so I'd actually expect the metals to be somehow blended in with the ceramic.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

It's actually something inside it that rattles. I will be getting new cats tomorrow, and I will replace them on Monday. Those converters were kinda clogged anyway, plus I almost failed reinspection because of them. Thanks for all your input guys.

I had the 4 catalytic converters. Now basically my whole exhaust is new.
