Pretty sure they're dead, drivers side is partially clogged, back pressure at tail pipe is weaker than passenger side, and I think that's not as strong as it could be either. Out of curiousity, where's that damn platinum in the converter?Comment

no idea what else is in a converter, probably all manner of nasty shit. The amount of platinum in a converter isn't very great, but it happens to be a very valuable metal. Does this car have two cats, or four? If it has four, and the upstream pre-heater disintegrated, then the downstream convertor is also bad, being plugged with brick material...if the downstream convertor is bad, or if there are only two convertors on the car, then most likely, the muffler on that pipe might also need to be replaced, due to brick material going straight into the muffler...just something to think about.Originally posted by 86VickyLX View PostComment

The brick shit is still in the catalytic converter. I just swapped them out today. Nice and quiet, and equal back pressure out of both the tail pipes. My fuel economy has increased slightly, the car is more responsive, and it doesn't smell like ass.Originally posted by Pirate View Post
