    Exactly.

Not recommended, but it's a possibility.

The only suggestion I could think of right now would be to put a hairdryer on 'hot', and somehow have it blow through the open carb/throttle body, and into the intake manifold for a few hours, or into the crankcase via' the oil-fill hole....with the drains open.

Got a kerosene heater? That will warm up the engine pretty decent. I actually had the lower radiator hose freeze in my F150, thing was solid ice - drove truck to Meijer, by then it was already steaming off the vent, went inside, bought some coolant, went out and filled up the radiator with it (took the whole gallon), let it sit and melt in there, went inside, bought another gallon of coolant, dumped that in the radiator as well, then went inside and spent like an hour shopping. Came out, no more ice in the hose, all is peaches.

Not enough cash at this time to buy the new radiator. And the old one leaks it had been leaking since i got the car apparently. I use to find the power steering fluid in a puddle before i did the gearbox and antifreeze with it.

Well at least get what ice out of there you can. Leaving it in there is asking for trouble.

Im tryin to do it.Its freezing all the time here. I got the old radiator out last night and the bottom hose was frozen solid but little by little it was coming out when i angled it down so i got a bucket under it to catch the water.

I still say running the engine for a while is by far the easiest way to heat coolant.

I assume it's "not recommended" because of the danger of overheating .....

Im gonna go out in a few and check it and try to angle the hose down into the bucket more so it just slides out. And when i get the new radiator ill grab 2 gallons of antifreeze.

might as well thaw it out any way you can.. any damage that could be is already done.

i use a little ceramic heater to thaw out my (house) water lines on occasion.
probably do a good job of thawing out your block.

                            good luck, Bill
