    Wierd noise

Have a wierd noise coming from my dash area ; up top in the center. Sounds like a clicking sound. Almost keeps time with the radio. Only does it when motor is running. It's starting to drive me nuts. Nothing is going wrong or anything yet (knock on wood); but would like to know if it could become a prob..One would think it is a vacum leak or something?? Thanks for any help...Don

Does it go away if you push down on the dash pad? Might just be a loose screw or something. I can't think of anything in the top center of the dash that should be making noises.

Oh god, hate the airbag lights. My last '91 vic had one flashing 33, or 331 or something, meant "sensor bad, so out of six sensors, if you could track the bad one down, then you could pay $380 for the part, and then pay for the install, screw that!

It never did get replaced, I traded the car to my brother for a 91 ranger, and sometimes see the car around town every once in a while, after he sold it/traded it in.

Airbag systems are not that hard to repair or replace parts as long as you disable the backup supply. Directions are in the shop manual, usually consists of unhooking the battery and unplugging a connector on the backup unit. If its beeping, it means the bulb is bad.

Like I said it has been flashing for awhile now. Only makes the noise when the motor is running no other time. It's not a bell so to speak more like a peck or a buzz if that make any since. As for the code the bag light flashes 6 times then recycles itself. Now it flashes all the time then stops for about 2 mins. or so.

That sounds about right, my friends Mark VII does that exact same thing. Hers does it mainly when its wet outside because her front impact sensor is rusted to peices. Perhaps you should check you front airbag sensor.

code 6 is driver's side airbag circuit open or high resistance. $1 says its the clockspring. Clockspring is about 50-60 bucks, not very hard to install. There is a diagnostic procedure in the shop manual to tell you how to verify if its the clockspring or the bomb itself. Different codes mean different things, so you really need to know what code you have before you can fix it.
