Yeah, uh, I don't really see what your mechanic's problem was with getting those out...

Thanks for the helo, guys. I think the problem was yesterday was in the upper 70s, the first Saturday of the year and everyone wanted oil changes.
The guy who usually does my cars is pretty handy - he's done all the work on his Ram Air Trans AM with 125 HP Nitrous, etc. and he's never steered me wrong before with any other issues I've had. I'll try going back when they're not so busy and he isn't being pulled all over the shop....
I figured the plug would be oversized since the car is 18,,,oops, 19 years old. I wonder how many oil changes have been done in that amount of time?

Holy crap what a bunch of retards. The only possible (non retarded) reason they wouldn't do that is if the drain plugs were oversized. At jiffy lube it's a loosely enforced policy that we did not service cars with oversized plugs.Builder/Owner of Badass Panther Wagons

If this problem persists, and the entire mechanic population of your area insists that they can't change the oil due to 'magical' oil pan plugs, call a couple of transmission shops to see if they do engine oil changes (I don't know of any that won't do engine oil changes, as it's also an opportunity to make a tranny rebuild sale, lol), as they have a vacuum tank that they suction tranny fluid out with....through the dipstick tube.
