My car cuts off sometime when the A/C is running

Any advice on this I think all i need to do is just turn the idle up to compensate for the drag the compressor puts on the engine..Anyone else ever had this problem. All help would be appreciated..Thanks in advance...

My compresor is shot. Last fall I pulled out enough metal shaving to fill up 1-1/2" of the tube where the filter screen it. I put new cool in it and lots of oil and it still works, but it does have a very high drag on the engine. I would estimat it takes up over 65hp or more to run at speed. And its noisy as crap too. Still ice cold, but it's deffinetly a dead compressor. If you have these signs then it could be time to replace the A/C comp.

should be a solenoid that bumps up idle speed when compressor is kicked on.

Just an idle bump speed solenoid that should be located right by where your throttle cable hooks to the throttle. I disabled mine, you could bump up idle a bit. When the ac kicks on in the vic it only drops the rpms by about 100-200.
