I can't argue that but the problem with the stock 2" ones(at least the walker brand) is that once the upstream restrictions are removed they are the problem. Because I am planning a fairly hi compression 351W I will probably just do the 2.5" pipe to start with so I won't have to crawl back under it again.

    So I am looking for:

    1994-'96 Impala SS tails P/N:54016/54017
    1990 S-10 2.5" Mid pipes 4.3L v6 I assume? 2.25" should be for the 2.8L...
    and a '90ish Mustang off road H pipe 2.5"

I think I will just go with Thrush Turbo muffs and see how it sounds.

      stang shortys
      2.5 offroad H
      2.25 stang intermediate pipes
2.25 stock walker sound fx mufflers for some back pressure and to tone things down.
      dumped

I really like this setup and its been perfect for me.. I think its the perfect balance between loud and obnoxious, it screams pretty good when you get on it but it's not that loud at idle. i'm sure i still piss quite a bit of people off but it's nowhere near a ticket..

stock 2'' tails suck and shouldn't be on anything but a stock lopo

if you want 2.5" all the way thru you can use mustang midpipes and 2.5" extension pipe and dynomax impala ss tailpipes.......i use the 2.25" midpipes and mufflers with the 2" tails and make reducers for the tailpipes to go into the mufflers

i thought i would point something out... that is a catless X pipe you have pictured intended for long tube headers. if memory serves you need something to hook up to shortie headers

If you want 2.5" all the way you'll want to either get the Maremont 339221 midpipes (easier) or adapt 2.5" Mustang midpipes (more common). I got my Maremont pipes for about $18 each, and they include flanges.

I looked into Maremont a few times for other cars, the only place here that sells them is Canadian Tire and it is 2 to 3 weeks for delivery, thats IF they do everything right, alot of times I have never seen the parts.

The spintech system I originally posted was just for reference to the mufflers, and won't happen. I will be doing full 2.5" front to back as I still have not even ruled out a 408 stroker for this car yet. I will be in town today and will price these parts and see what availability is.

I have one more shop I would like to get a quote from as well, he does good work but in the past has pissed me off as well. Hes a mustang guy, races etc. but has this problem with not listening to what the customer says to do... You have to stay and watch him or he won't build what you want.

Oh, you're Canadian. That always helps to know; down here we can get these things in stock at our local parts outlet.

Best of luck if you choose to work with a shop that won't listen to what you want .......

Were the flanges the ball and socket type that mate up to the Mustang H pipes? If so, they may be worth a look, as I think it comes out slightly cheaper than the Mustang mids and extensions. Also, one less joint in the system.

Found another place that stocks Maremont but the guy was retarded... I will have to bring part numbers. As for finding parts in stock, we have one place in town that supplies all the muffler shops here and most everything is usually in stock and all Walker.

As for searching... This is about the only one I haven't searched. (I kind of fail badly at that anyway LOL) Can't sign up on CVN either, seems my E-mail has been banned? Kind of odd for a person who has never been on there to be banned...
