Disclaimer: I am not a mechanic. Wanting to learn but I'm finding alot of things over my head. I know the basic engine parts, and I am fairly up to speed on available ford parts. (Months of drooling at summit)
I cant decide wither to do some budget upgrades to my 302, or build a budget 351. I wouldn't do the lower end, and the top end parts would come in so slow (fundage) that I think I could get by with the help of my mechanic buddies.
I found aluminum gt-40x for 1000/pair, Im planning on those headers either way I go. Open for better suggestions but Im not spending more than a thousand dollars. Alot less would be better.
Fuel Injection confuses me, if I was to build a 351 it would be carbed. If I keep the 302 Im going to upgrade my plenum and intake. I found a gt-40 intake upper and lower for 100 dollars on craigslist. I need to buy headers/exsaust before anything, but might go ahead and grab the steal while I can. What can I plan on needing/doing when i upgrade my intake and heads?
