    Ebay headers....

Can I trust off brand ceramic coated shorty headers off of ebay? Or is 150 bucks too good to be true?

150 sounds way too good to be true for ceramic...

i dont see any reason they wont work.. if your concerned about the off brand you could try going to summit racing.

        maybe these? http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

Give a man a fish and he will be fed for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will promptly forget that he once did not know, and proceed to call anyone who asks, a n00b and flame them on the boards for being stupid.

no-name headers may have fitment problems. I would see if you can find someone who has used them to see how well they actually work. Also, for stock heads, those are actually overkill. you'd be better with 1 1/2" primary headers, or boring old stock HO headers.

Thanks for for the thought. Do different header brands make much of a difference?

New heads are happening. At least some ported e7s but, Im planning on doing something better. Depends on what i can figure out with the budget. Leaning towards some from afr atm.

Header quality is all over the place. I have Hedmans on my car, and getting to some of the bolts is a PITA. They were also warped, so the gaskets blew out constantly. I had them milled flat again but I could have spent 30 bucks more and had BBK headers that bolt up easily without warped flanges. Last set of BBK headers I installed I could get a socket on every bolt. The Ford Racing ones also fit really nicely, good access to the bolts and good quality as far as I can tell.

There is a place on E-Bay called BLUE OVAL INDUSTRIES, that sells a set of shorty's for $109. I don't know if they are any good or not.

Its become a mute point. Ive buying an early 70s 351w block for next to nothing. Hopefully next month it will be off to the shop to be bored and stroked to 393. Maybe I will do something about my shoddy headers and exhaust around june....

they seem alright.try craigslist. i picked up a set of dynomax 1''1/2 shorties for 80 bucks.fitment was perfect, even left the spark plugs on. but you will need 2''1/2 inch exhaust to fit the collector.

I have BBK 351 swap headers, and they are very nice quality. Nice bends, nice welds, nice finish, great fit. I got mine coated, but the coating turns gray quickly anyway. I think they can be polished though; I just didn't want to see trust.

They cost me 340, I think, but the 302 ones are cheaper. Buy different gaskets and bolts, as the ones included are turds...
