    Slight Jerking At Constant Speed

Hi guys. I have been noticing a slight jerk when I'm at a steady speed. It's quite noticable on a flat road. If I give it any gas, it will go away. It's just a constant speed thing. I'm wondering if it's a clogged fuel injector or something. I'm having my mechanic perform the inspection so I can have it passed. Any ideas what might be causing the jerking?

    Bad plug or wire probably.

Wires and plugs have been replaced. The car did this before I replaced the plugs and wires.

It could be a clogged injector. Did you change the cap and rotor with the plugs and wires?

No, I didn't. But I vigorously inspected the cap for cracks. I didn't see any.

Sometimes they get tiny where you cant see em. Id swap the cap and run some injector cleaner through it.

I was going to have him do that, if it doesn't pass right away. Run the injector cleaner that goes right through the fuel rail.

Over advanced? It's set at 10* BTDC, so I should have it retarded? It smells a tad rich already.

are all your mounts good? trans/engine? have you fiddled with tv pressure? was it set correctly with a gauge?

p.s. you should try slightly jerking it at varied speeds..

All mounts are fine. Transmission has been rebuilt, and TV pressure was set by the shop.
It does the same thing at higher speeds too. Constant speeds mind you. It's more noticable at like around town speeds like 25.

mine did that for a couple years but seemed to stop after i changed a bad ignition module.
can't swear it was related, but its been fine since.

                          good luck, Bill

Who knows. This car is weird. I wouldn't be surprised if it was that. But normally, aren't they either good or bad? Not like some midway point?

Mine did the same thing. Never really bothered to fix it since I'm doing a motor swap anyway. But I did have an idea. When I pulled the old motor out the timing chain had a ton of play in it. I don't know if maybe the cam timing was jumping around. Just a thought.
