I was checking prices the other day on the new engine for my car... And noticed that the 351 was the same price... so it made me wonder about putting in a 351... Of course I know that I will have to do some converting... like intake, four barrel, fuel pump, and ignition... (I already have a 351 aircleaner I saw it at the junk yard last week... Picked it up just in case!) And I have to check and see if the guiy that is going to be doing the swap for me will want to do the extra stuff needed for the conversion... The 302 will be a easier swap out, but I would sort of like to have a little bit more power, also...
So the reason I am asking is some people have told me that the 351 W is junk, and to stay with the 302... What do you guys think about the duribility of the 351? That is my main issue--- duribility, and longevity... I want it to last 200,000 miles or more... Since I am keeping the car as long as possible...
I have never had a vehicle with the 351 W in it, so i can't judge the power increase it would give me, duribilty etc....
