AOD slip - Downshifiting out of OD

Just finished my HO, AOD and K code swap into my 90 vic this week. Took it out for a drive and when rolling 55 I floor it, the car slips for a second before dropping into the lower gear completely. Almost seems like power is gone and then...BAM! its flying. The tv shift cable has about 1/4 to 5/16 slack in it (hits OD at 50 under light throttle). The trans was rebuilt awhile back and ran good prior to coming out of it's home (90 LSC). Just wondering what peoples thoughts were.

I did some looking around and am hoping it might be a sticking valve but who knows. Too high of TV pressure? Too low?

    Some notes:

    1. Well, unless I'm mistaken, the LSC AOD is an inch longer than the regular Vic AOD....

    2. There isn't supposed to be any slack in the TV cable. At the very worst, take the slack out, at the very best, take the slack out, and add just a bit of tension when pulling the on cable.

Lincoln AODs are longer. Unless the driveshaft is shortened or really crammed in there, they dont even fit.

If there is slack in the cable, and its not going into overdrive until 50, something is wrong. Either the cable is bound up and not actually changing pressure with the throttle position, or somehow its screwed up inside the trans.

Also my LSC trans does the same thing. I was told probably the valve body is dirty and needs a good cleaning. Either that, or the forward clutches are worn and its a sign of eventual death.

I guess I should have worded it different. There isn't slack in the cable but when the gas is to the floor, you can pull the tv cable out about 1/4 to 5/16 from the plastic rod assembly...but it takes some effort.

DS was shortened and the inside of the trans is sparkling clean, just changed the fluid.

I think I might have found the problem....2 sticking injectors. Cylinder balance test shows 2 are having issues. Gonna swap 'em out the next day I have off from work.
