Hi Everyone,
Just want to say Merry Christmas (or Happy Holidays) to all the kind people here who offer their expertise and instructions on how to keep our cars running like new.
This year I did stuff I thought I'd never do:
The cars runs a lot smoother now and is peppier, the h. balancer was on its way out, and the timing chain was a little loose, the water pump was still ok but it just scared me, being the original one still in there.
So i took 3 days (I had to paint the all new parts Ford Blue & Clearcoat and let them all dry, you understand
). It was kinda scary, but I was lucky enough not to break any WP stud/bolts and went from there. Kroil spray treatments absolutely helped loosen them.
By the way, Dorman has replacement WP stud/bolts for all execept one which i had to put the original back in (its on the 11:00 position on the WP).
It's weird but the hardest part was the front cover. Cleaning it for painting was bad enough, but to put it back on and press down due to those dowels was a pain. Scraping off old intake gaskets was no joy either.
All in all, the engine bay looks great with a newly sprayed alum. plenum, and I've got to post some pics.
I'm up to 218,000 miles now and want to beak 300,000.
So, thanks again to Scott and all the rest of you guys.
Be Well,
91gmblack.

- new timing chain
- new water pump
- new harmonic balancer
- new intake manifold gaskets.
- new fuel pressure regulator.
