naw, ill get some though. i mean it is a big ol' crown vic....the car drove straight and fine....its just cosmeticly effed up for good unless i find some wonder working body people or i can cut the back part off and weld new quarter panels in. or if anything ill find another '87-'91 crown vic and just drop the 351W in it.

Hydroplaned sideways and backwards on the highway? That takes talent.... or else it's just way past time for new tires (I've got a story about that one too ...). Need pics!!

Quite probably. Summit sells jet kits for Holleys, and Ivan and others claim to know more than a little bit about messing with them. Summit also has at least two or three vacuum gauges priced under $20 (I bought the black-faced SunPro).

well....here she is after the wreck. just a new fucking tail light is 100 bucks on ebay. the front subframe has been pushed to the passenger side a wee bit cuz there is a slightly larger gap at the end of the hood than up near the window. the driverside fender is pushed back a bit also. if anyone knows any good way to find CV parts.....let me know cuz im gunna need them. that is if shes worth fixing......what do ya'll think?

^^^^here is the passenger side....the rear quarter panel has been pushed to the right which put the nice crinkle that i didnt get a good enough pic of

the front can be fixed up no problem but you may have a problem with the rear, thats the killer for sure. As far as getting parts, got anything local? Cuz I don't have any yards near me, so whenever i needed anything it was time for a road trip. I never found a yard less that 2 hours away from me. Just inspecting the damage like I said i believe the rear will be a PITA to fix. maybe just find a new box and drop in the 351.
          keep us posted.

Oh and two years ago i got smacked and it crunched my D.S. door. the estimate for just the door and little bit of quarter panel was over 1700 bux. In other words find a new box.

gahhhhh. its like..1 out of 1,000 made with the 351W in '91 would it be possible to just get a whole new rear for it and weld it in? from right in front of the gas filler back. the whole trunk is tweaked....but its fixable with a come along. idk.....i guess it is a bit too bad to be worth fixing. but idk how many '88-'91 vics i see that would have such a clean frame. let alone a p71 of those years. my last vic was ate up from frame rot...but of course that was in illinois where the salt eats shit up in the winter. im just gunna wait and see what a come along can do for me to make it somewhat ok. untill then i have to make it street legal and keep on driving it lol. but it needs the water pump changed....and then the fucking fuel problem....i still need to pick the jets up for that. it seems like a waste to do all that but i guess i got to do it in order to get my ass back and forth the 70 miles i drive every day for school and work. this whole new college and growing up and getting off on my own stuff is starting to get harder than i thought it would be :\

and yeah...the local pull apart here in charlotte only has either an '85...or a '92...so im screwed there...im gunna keep looking though.

you can no longer get a "new" rear but if a rear is available in a yard, it will be one hell of a task to weld in. And if you want to go through all of this work, swapping frames would be just as much work so get a shit box and pop on your frame. And is the 85 a cop car. i would be looking for a particular item if so?

The front end is probably not tweeked. You need new sheet metal, but the hood is probably just pushed back. I hammered an F150 from 35 mph with my '88, and mangled the front end, but didn't damage the frame. The radiator support may be damaged for you as well. Need a bumper, and have to pull the bumper shock out some. I'd have to look at it close to be positive that the frame isn't bent in the front.

The rear damage? I wouldn't even mess with it. The car is ruined, and unless you are a skilled body man (or have money to burn, on a car that you are totally obssessed with), you should not attempt it. That needs a quarter installed to be fixed right, which involves extensive seaming, etc. Are the rear frame horns bent?

I hate to be harsh, but I would remove the good parts, take the shift know off, and make a key chain. It may be a rare car, but it is busted up and in my opinion, not worth fixing (and P72s are close to my heart).

Get another one, and remember the good times.

I have to agree, unfortunately you now have a nice white parts car. It sucks but you'll be able to find another car a lot cheaper than you can fix what you have. Sucks that its probably not going to be a factory 351 car, but lets face it, these cars have no real collector value so thats not going to matter very much in practical terms. You have everything you need to stab a 351 in another car, including the proper carb fuel tank pickup and the 351-specific hard to find AC compressor brackets.

the frame isnt bent from what i can tell. and i just richened the carb up as much as i could and the fucking POS still has the god damned studder/miss/absolute lack of power. it did make it a bit better though. the 1406 a/f ratio chart thing said to do the number 19 to get the richest which was just changing the metering rods to the 070 x 037 rods. was a spring change needed or something? idek what the springs are for.
