HC is usually running rich or burning oil. Do you have oil consumption problems? When was the last time you had a tune-up ? Is this an idle test, or do they test at some certain RPM or on a dyno or something?86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

I think in NY they have tests that run cars on dynos up to highway speeds. The KR-86 or something like that.Comment

I'm one of those people that actually likes emissions testing. It keeps me from having to follow smokey stinky heaps that people refuse to fix properly. Of course I also favor competant and complete safety inspections for the same reason. I dont worry about my cars having ball joints fly apart and causing a pileup, its the other ones around me that I worry about.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

if you have a sefi car, it ought to have 4 converters. You're probably going to need working catalysts if your engine isn't really fresh. I've heard of low mileage motors getting through with no converter, but if your car has miles, its likely not going to get the job done.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

1986 lincoln towncar signature series. 5.0 HO with thumper performance ported e7 heads, 1.7 roller rockers, warm air intake, 65mm throttle body, 1/2" intake spacer, ported intakes, 3.73 rear with trac lock, 98-02 front brake conversion, 92-97 rear disc conversion, 1" rear swaybar, 1 3/16" front swaybar, 16" wheels and tires, loud ass stereo system, badass cb, best time to date 15.94 at 87 mph. lots of mods in the works 221.8 rwhp 278 rwt

Yes, they do. My GM has passed evrey year without a hitch. The strange thing is, is that my emissions keep going DOWN. When I can figure out how to post pics, I will show my last 2 inspections.Originally posted by 86VickyLX View PostComment
