you remember that don't you Dave? remember, you gave me those stock 14lb injectors...after that, it ran very well.
injectors/ecm should only be changed if the camshaft is changed.
I was running an HO upper plenum and throttle body with shorty headers and dual exhaust...that gave it some more pep and made the throttle response real nice.
oh, and gears will go great with any setup...such as 3.27s or 3.55s.sigpic

Dont understand what is misleading about my statements. The combo works well.
Also thought he might not want to pull the engine down that far.
If you can get the heads for free go for it.

Just E7 heads with nothing else will give you a little bit, but its probably not worth the bother. If you've got it down to a shortblock, its not much more to swap the cam out. Used HO cams appear cheap on forums or on ebay all the time. Just make sure its rust-free and the lobes are in good shape. If they look like they've been attacked with a grinder or have rust on them, its scrap metal.
The E7 heads, HO cam, HO upper intake, and the HO throttle body with the bored EGR spacer make a very noticeable difference in power. Lincolnmania's black Crown Vic has that exact setup and runs a 16.30 quarter mile. Typical stock times for that car are in the high 17s or low 18s.

Lots of stuff had a 3.27. Some boxes, Mark VII LSCs, Towncars, etc. You'd probably be a bit better off with a 3.55 though. You can find those with a traction lock unit in tow package boxes. Look for the door sticker, and a letter K under the AX field.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).
