it won't run well..Magna had that same setup for a short time..crappy throttle response and ran rich.
you remember that don't you Dave? remember, you gave me those stock 14lb injectors...after that, it ran very well.
injectors/ecm should only be changed if the camshaft is changed.

I was running an HO upper plenum and throttle body with shorty headers and dual exhaust...that gave it some more pep and made the throttle response real nice.

oh, and gears will go great with any setup...such as 3.27s or 3.55s.

My firt set up in the blue 2 door was exactly as I stated. It ran great got good economy. Wanted to run 80 on the hiway or better.

Dont understand what is misleading about my statements. The combo works well.
Also thought he might not want to pull the engine down that far.

If you can get the heads for free go for it.

Colin thought you put 19s in a lopo ecm dont remember for shure or didnt repin the ECM.

Just E7 heads with nothing else will give you a little bit, but its probably not worth the bother. If you've got it down to a shortblock, its not much more to swap the cam out. Used HO cams appear cheap on forums or on ebay all the time. Just make sure its rust-free and the lobes are in good shape. If they look like they've been attacked with a grinder or have rust on them, its scrap metal.

The E7 heads, HO cam, HO upper intake, and the HO throttle body with the bored EGR spacer make a very noticeable difference in power. Lincolnmania's black Crown Vic has that exact setup and runs a 16.30 quarter mile. Typical stock times for that car are in the high 17s or low 18s.
oh ok im going to do that then. Do i still have to use a mustang or Lincoln LSC computer? Do i need to use 19lb injectors too? What cars came with 3.27 gears?

pi's some wagons. just find the gear codes and math them to whats on the doors of junked panthers. if you pull the gears out of other cars and wish to use the carrier just make sure its a 28 spline.

HO cam needs 19# injectors and the HO computer from a Mark VII or a Mustang. Mustang ECM from 1989 onward requires some wiring work to add in the mass air sensor. mark VII ECM is drop-in with no mods.

Lots of stuff had a 3.27. Some boxes, Mark VII LSCs, Towncars, etc. You'd probably be a bit better off with a 3.55 though. You can find those with a traction lock unit in tow package boxes. Look for the door sticker, and a letter K under the AX field.

As gadget said, there is a range of cars (and trucks) that came with them. The easiest option would be to pull a complete rear axle out of a Panther. Also an ideal time to upgrade to rear discs if you get one out of a newer panther. Look for axle code 5 (open) or E (traction-lok). 3.27's seem more common on '87-'88 Panthers FWIW. I have them in my wagon and they aren't much different from 3.08's. Go 3.55 K-Code.
