    Central Florida Anyone???

Hi guys, anyone on here live in or near orlando that could help me out with replacing the front seal on my AOD? Cut a long story short, i've got tranny fluid leaking out of the bellhousing. tranny shifts fine with no other problems. Tranny was removed from engine a few months ago but the front seal was never replaced, so I'm hoping that's all it is. I've got a front seal and a good place to work on it. I'd do the job myself but I broke my leg in an accident about a year ago and it causes me much pain to lay underneath cars now. If anyone could help please let me know and we'll talk $$$.

    Thanks in advance.

you sure its just the seal ?

A slipping OD band will cause the fluid to overheat and come out the front seal.
it happened to the stock AOD in my 89 CV.
Since you have the AOD already out, why not freshen it up ?

Hi Guys, thanks for the responses. bad news I guess, tranny is shot as of today. I was on the interstate driving about 70, all of a sudden no power, no drive. I pull over as quickly as possible. Pull the tranny dipstick, fluid is BLACK!!! still at the correct level though. Called AAA and they confirmed that either the bands or some major seal in the tranny has burned out. TV cable pressure perfect and a full fluid change and filter done about a month ago. I don't have the heart to junk the car because it runs perfectly and in a strange way, it's one of the family and it would kill me to let it go. So tranny rebuild on the way.

Well, now I know we have some florida people, we'll have to meet when she's back on the road again!

Thanks again for the responses, much appreciated.

Make sure the shop rebuilding it puts a Trans-Go SK shift improver kit in it, that way this doesn't happen again. If they won't do it, find another shop.
