    Bad Fuel Pump?

89 CV, 110,000 miles. Went to start it today after a short drive and it ran for 1 second and stalled, wouldn't restart. Went to check to see if the spark plugs had power about 20 minutes later and the car started immediately. Usually when I start the car I hear the fuel pump run for a second when I turn the key but I didn't hear it. Question: is my fuel pump most likely the problem and is there anything I need to know if I'm going to replace it?

    Thanks

Check your connections mang. Check the relays on the drivers side fender, make sure they are all tight.

relays and bad connections will cause problems. The pumps in these cars are really reliable. They can go bad but the relays seem to fail before the pump most of the time.

i had an issue with this stuff before... fuel pump relay is the greenish one... and the other relay that can affect it from starting is the dark brown one. last issue i had thinking it was the fuel pump was the dark brown relay that was keeping the car from starting and not letting the fuel pump kick on... relays are CHEAPER and easier than having to replace the fuel pump. start at relays and let us know

You can test to see if the relays are any good by running jumper wires between the harness for the relay. There should be a routing diagram on the side of the relay to tell you how the relay works (so you know which terminals you connect).
