Hello all! Been a little while. I got the 302 out of the wagon and am SLOWLY rebuilding it. Got a 6 month old and another on the way, so the going is slow, and the budget is tight.
Onto the question! I picked up an HO upper (and lower intake). The upper intake did not come with an EGR spacer plate. Originally I was gonna re-use the original one, but diameter is much smaller, so no go. Looks to me like I have 2 options.
1. Source an HO EGR spacer plate (anybody happen to have one of these laying around?
2. EGR Eliminator Plate such as: http://www.accufabracing.com/throttle_bodies.htm#EGR (the second one without the water passages).
I realize that with the EGR eliminator plate i'll also need the jumper to fool the computer into thinking the EGR is there and permenently in the closed position.
I'm at work right now so please forgive my questions but I'd like to get something figured out today.
Question 1: Will my throttle cable bracket bolt up to the EGR eliminator plate? I thought my bracket bolted in perpendicular to the EGR spacer and every eliminator plate i find shows bolt holes parallel to the EGR spacer. Maybe my mind is just going...
Question 2: Anybody know what diameter I should run for a factory HO throttle body and upper intake?
Question 3: (not critical, but while i'm here) Bolt size required to thread into the upper intake and hold on the throttle body and EGR spacer?
Feel free to provide additional suggestions on how to get this sucker together reliably and cheaply and still have provisions for mounting my throttle cables. Thanks!
