    D80E

What do you guys know about this head? Im planning on pulling the motor out of the vic and putting it in the wife's '76 Maverick. Are they better then the stock heads? There's a guy in the area selling them with a 4bbl intake and dizzy for $50. He claims they came off any 84 H.O. Stang. Should I get them?

I believe ford started using D80E in 1977 through the early 80's so its possible you may already have them on the vic..

D8OE was pretty standard on small blocks from '79-'84. Some say they are better than the E6SE, but not by much.

Stock heads on what? If I'm not mistaken, the D5OE's that should be on a '76 Maverick 302 have small combustion chambers, very good for compression. Keep the D5OE's if you have them. The D8OE certainly won't flow any better than the D5OE's.

You can find E7TE's cheap if you look around, or GT40P's off an Exploder (GT40's for a 1996 model) for a small investment.

Na the Mav has a 250 in it I'm taking the motor out of the 84 vic and putting it in to the Mav. Now all I ever here is how shitty the heads are. So I was looking into cheap alternatives. I figure for heads/intake/dizzy for $50 was something to look into.

GT40P heads are the best bang for the buck, even if they require special headers.

+1, all the above. P heads would be an effective upgrade for not much bucks. I'm guessing your car has a 351, so you'd need to have the head bolt holes drilled out to fit.
