You're going to have to point out where I disputed all the advice that was given to me. I have read back over all of my posts, and I am unsure of what you are getting at.

I merely stated that I didn't think the TV cable was an issue, seeing as I have adjusted it according to the sticky (as numerous other folks have as well, without issue). The cable has free range of motion, and isn't hanging up at all; I cheked that when I did my 4 bbl swap. I could try and set the TV pressure with a gauge, but I don't see that as being a problem, if I am being honest. Its not like the transmission is super erratic; it just seems firmer than both '88s I have/ had. As far as the lazy kickdown, that seems to be a common issue, from what I have read about stock AODs (with some mileage on them) in Mustangs, etc. This is one of the symptoms that Transgo claims it's kit will fix, which also leads me to believe it is an issue. I appreciate your suggestion, and I wouldn't overlook it if I thought it would help.

Why do you feel like I was arguing and disputing? I'm sorry if it came off that way, as that wasn't my intention.

But, I am not going kiss your ass for technical advice; I don't get down like that. If you feel insulted because I didn't immediately try whatever suggestions you made (in all of your technical prowess), you need to chill out. I would invite you to answer my questions, but you do not have to be arrogant about it.

My friend and I were going to put a Baumann unit in his '91 T Bird, but he sold it before we did. I have heard good things about those too.

But, I think I am going to go with the Transgo AOD-HP kit. It looks simple enough to install (after watching the install video), and I have heard alot of good things about it. I don't like the idea of drilling holes in the VB, but after seeing it done, it isn;t that serious. I hope to get this done in the next couple of weeks.

I'm running the HP kit IIRC. Still is slower than hell downshifting. Very firm shifts.

Next one is gonna be a true 4r70W with a baumannator electronic control or whatever Cowtown Cowboy is running

Even when you down shift it manually? Hmmm. This is good to know.

I dont think the AOD gives you full pressure on a down shift in 2ndd or something like that is the reason for the lazy downshifts.

dropping from OD at cruise takes a long time. Manually downshifting is quick, but the upshifts are still pretty slow. manual or not. That's why I run the autocrosses in 1st. the up down shifts kill me.

Well, if I am running along on the highway at 65, and I pull it out of OD into D, it takes a while to drop down. Manual downshifting isn't that important, as I rarely do it at all. But when I step on it, I like it to kickdown accordingly. It kicks down now, but it takes a while; this pisses me off, and I usually end up flooring it in an attempt to speed the process.

Also, I have this other question. I have the 2 D OD valvebody in my car. Will the Transgo keep it that way, or make it 1 D OD?

As far as I know unless you go with a kit/valvebody that has a electric od activate or deactivate your going to have L, D, OD. Havet seen a kit that does the electric O/D there are valve bodys that do around 500.00 and up.
Requires drilling and taping hole in case fore wires. Then L becomes 1st, D becomes 2nd, OD becomes 3rd. Once in OD/3rd hitting switch activates OD.

You will have to change the valve body to attain 1st gear holding goodness.

Either you want it to shift automatically at a higher RPM or you want it to upshift and downshift on demand. As a general rule, for manual shifting, you use the CV governor in addition to your valve body reprogramming. For automatic shifting at a higher RPM, you use a Mustang governor.

I'd like it to shift at the same RPM it does now, but without being so slow/ slushy. I don't need it to shift at a higher RPM as I only have a stock cam which won't rev much past 4250 anyway. I really don't want a manual vb either. Is there no middle ground?

Wray-wray, does that kit you have require you to drill holes in the vb? Thats a B&M Transpak?
