well as most of you know i just got a 69 lincoln continental, its got a 460 but the old owner is keeping that, so im planning on putting my 400 in out of a 79 lincoln mark 5, the original tranny is staying with the 69 so i know the 400 will bolt up to that, but im wondering if the 400 uses the same engine moutns as the 460 and be a direct bolt in kinda thing..

the 400 is a 335 series engine......based on the 351c.......it has a big block bellhousing, but you are probably going to have to do some research on motor mounts......try mounts for a 71 ltd with a 400

460 Blocks Use different motor mounts.
You also have to use a 400/351M C6 flexplate and verify that the crank pilot hole is the same size that the converter snout is.
