Rims?

I am looking at some rims and they are 5 lug Cragars. The guy doesnt know the exact backspacing or bolt circle but he got them from a guy that had them on a 67 Chevelle and he had them on a 69 Firebird. I was wondering if they would fit my Vic? What do you all think? They come with tire and the specs on those are 225/75R14, althought I havent a clue what mosta that means besides 14 inch rim and doesnt the 22 at the begginin refer to the tire size?

I couldn't get a 14" steel wheel to clear the front brakes on my car (stock brakes).

Those wheels would probably have a 5x4.75" bolt circle, whereas you car has a 5x4.5" bolt circle. However, most Cragars are universal, and will fit more than one circle. Maybe the 4.5", and the 4.75" circle. There are slotted washers that make that possible. You'd have to look into it/ measure first. I would prefer to keep 15" wheels, even if the 14" wheels fit.

The bolt pattern on a chevy are different. As stated, they might be unilug. I'd pass if I were you.

225 section width= how wide it is (widest points of sidewall). Measured in mm.
75 aspect ratio= the ratio of sidewall height to the tire width. Unitless (its a ratio).
14 wheel diameter= self explanatory. Measured in inches.

Yeah, tell the guy to go measure the things and get back to you. Bolt pattern is measured from the edge of one bolt hole to the center of one of the ones across from it, and backspacing by laying a straightedge across the inner edge of the rim and measuring to the mounting surface. As mentioned above, if they were previously installed on a stock Chevy, they won't bolt up to your car unless they're unilug, which is OK but not great. I have a set of unilug wheels myself, and they're kind of a pain to install.

Stock Panther wheels are "zero offset", which roughly translated means that the backspacing is half the wheel width plus 1/2". For example, 4-1/2" backspacing on a 8" wide wheel. Less backspacing works also, but slight funkiness results if you go under 4" for an 8" wheel (3.5" for a 7" wheel).
