Just saw the pics, really nicely done!!! Do you notice a difference in power and or sound? Oh and a '68 Dart isn't a sleeper; now a '74 on the other hand with a 426 Hemi............ G-Body Malibus aren't bad little machines. I think my old Malibu is no longer running. I haven't seen or heard from that girl in a while. Too bad because I just found out how to get a Caddy Escalade engine/trans to work in those cars without breaking the bank.

Not much difference in sound; its a little deeper, and slightly louder. You can hear the exhaust pulses really clearly too, especially sitting at a stop light. Not a huge difference in performance either. Slightly better mid range power, maybe?

As for the Dart; if you saw it sitting in a lot (not running, lol), you would never know what its capable of.

Right now I am looking for the right car to build, althought nothing will likely take shape any time before I graduate in 18 months. I am looking at lots of possibilities, all of which are domestic; my current interest is in G bodies (mainly the Regal/ Malibu) but I change my mind alot. I haven't lost sight of the boxtop Fairmont idea either. But I have so many ideas of things I'd like to have/ build, that it is ridiculous.

The G body would be a simple setup. 406 stroker (solid bottom end), AFR 205 (maybe larger?) heads, a good single plane manifold (probably an Edel. worked over by AFR), Holley DP, a wild solid roller (this would be a street/ strip car, but more of a strip car driving on the street), and other goodies; no nitrous. TH350, or maybe TH400, and a 9". Cage, mini tubs, worked over rear susp (I'd buy something; there is plenty available). I think it'd be fun... and I would still like the option of going with a big engine later on.

mang, did you consider getting the Summit Headers?
thicker steel than those BBKs and with the ceramic coating they are still only $230.
I have had no issues with mine...the flange thickness is the same as those BBKs...don't waste an extra 100bux for the BBK label and thinner steel.
I love my headers..still shiny as when I took them out the box and even after the car is run hot they are touchable in 15-20mins....after 30mins they are almost kold.
          check it out..

I would guess to put the cut outs before the cats so that you dont shoot flames into them.

I went with the BBKs. I have a 351 car, and upon speaking with some folk, they thought using 5L headers might cause clearance issues/ make it difficult to make front pipes fit. Rather than go through the hassle, I spent the extra hundred, and everything worked out well. The Summit headers are nice though...lol.

The ceramic coating is really nice too.
