no output from the alternator HELP

ok so i hooked up the new alternator, it wasnt puttin out a charge. took it to the auto part supply, tested good. so i put it back in, no charge. so i fiddled with everything, tried everything i could think of, no charge. i tested a few things and my results were as follows:

10 gauge wires are connected to the battery
yellow wire is suppling 12v to the regulator
stator wires are making full contact.
there is NO output, from either alt, car idles for about 5-10 minutes, with no lights on, on a jump start, then dies.

so after getting annoyed with it, i reconnect the wires and put the old alternator back in.... NO CHARGE! no output from either alternator. i think something may be wrong in the harness or something. any ideas?!?!?!?! thanks!

also, i had this problem the other night, before i changed the alternator. i fiddled with some wiring and it seemed to fix it... seems like maybe its in the big plug with 4 prongs, with the two 10 gauge wires. but if they are makin contact to the battery, it should charge. plus, on the 130, i ran a 4 gauge wire from the alt to the starter soleniod. no charge!

wellllll here is the deal. the 3G alternator was bad. thats why it wasnt working. but when i reconnected my 65, it wouldnt work either..... because the power plug was shot. i put a new one on, and it works fine. i think i will order the wiring kit for the 3g and exchange the alternator or buy a new one, and do it at a later date. but at the moment, the car is charging, and i am happy enough. thanks for all the info guys!
