would any of you know the real difference between the roller cam and the flat tappet cam. would the roller cam make more power because of less friction, and arent the lobes on the roller cam bigger than a flat tappet... i finally got enough money to buy a cam and just wanna know which would be my best buy, thanks lol

Roller cams have much more agressive ramp rates and keep the valve open longer. Its a more efficient system for that, plus the reduced friction doesn't hurt any.
Just a note though, the 85 block more than likely isn't roller cam compatible. You may have one that just needs the holes drilled and the hardware added, but you might not. The block casting code on the side should tell you.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

Only problem is, mang, your block is not roller compatable, unless you do an expensive retrofit.
Otherwise, you could do a roller bottom end (86-up) and easily use some of the numerous offerings from comp cams, trickflow, crane, or *gasp* the ford letter cams.1983 Grand Marquis 2Dr Sedan "Mercules"

mine is roller compatible. it has the holes to bolt down the lifter bracket or what ever that is. would i be able to use the roller lifters and push-rods i pulled out of the exploder, or would i need different rods and lifters---1990 Lincon LSC., 5.0 H.O., 55,000 ORIG. miles, 3:73 Posi, Bullit rims, 3G alt., 2.5" full-back exhaust, Mark 8 elec. fan, Flowmaster mufflers. Get new valve springs, by the way.
It's a royal BITCH swapping valve springs with the heads in the car. You have to dismantle the passenger side accessories and you have to completely remove the windshield wiper box just to get that task accomplished three days after you first run it halfway hard because you realized the stock Explorer springs blow.2011 Mustang GT Premium, MT82, Kona/Saddle, HIDs, 3.73s, 19s, hood/side stripes, UPR 1.5" springs with adjustable panhard bar, and UMI solid LCAs and relocation brackets.
