I notice that the voltmeter is at about 12.9V when the car is at liek a 650rpm idle in gear...but as soon as it hits 900ish it goes to about 14.8V or so.
However, I am running a stock Amperage Alt...I dont have my 100Amp Chrome one in yet.

appreciate the offer Mike, but I already have those Hooker Aero Chambers.

I'd put in a heavy duty alt, but chrome holds the heat in and an alt isnt one of the first things you think of to dress up an engine. Powermaster makes decent alts, at least for my chevy. 140amp rocked my ass off.

                I had a 140 amp 1 wire powermaster... what a POS.

As for the low voltage, get a smaller alt pulley.

DO EET! It'd go great with your new 4.10 gears ...

Ooh, forgot about those. I'm still interested to see how that combo sounds once you get it installed! You've still got to make it out here, though. :p

I have a bit of a charging issue even with my stock pulleys ... idling in gear with the lights and blower on, it drops to about 13 Volts, just as you say, and then jumps back up to 14.whatever when I hit the gas. Can't remember who, but I think one of the guys here said the stock 2G tends to do that ....

idle output on a 1 wire alternator is usually poor or nothing. they don't self-excite at low speeds most of the time. The stock type regulator on a 3g will pump the volts at idle. i can run the AC on mine with that power whore electric fan going and it never gets under 13.

Mabe you should keep the victor for later when you up grade the exhaust and some other stuff. I am now running the efi victor with cobra rockers works fine. If you dont have all the proper componets required for the build it ant gona run right. Been through this many times people do what they think is right or stuff they have read about in a magizine. This includes big time racers that have used gerrys stuff. If you want to realy learn about engine builds and theory put to proper use and unbiased componet matching read Circle Track.

naw I ain't keeping the Vic Jr...worked with as best as we could and power dont start until 3500...that don't work.
cuz great high end pulling is one thing but no low end in a car that needs it dont work..you know that.
if I had a 351, it wouldn't be an issue.

besides, got a buyer for it already.

sorry Dave, I hope you don't take offense to me changing it but it has made a liter night/day difference...I posted videos in the OTB section you can peek at.

I'm betting that Victor Jr. would wake up a bit if you ever went to still deeper gears (as I need to do even with my low-RPM parts) .... still be interesting to see what the car does once the exhaust is upgraded.

gears would get the motor into the intake's power band faster, but it would probably make the highway fuel economy suck. the specs on that even say the power band starts at 3500 rpm. Couple that with a cam with a higher rpm power band and stick it in a big heavy car and it just sucks. Like Pirate said in a previous post, it was a great combo for a lightened Mustang, not a Grand Marq.
