Will that be strong enough with basically a pile of washers under the pulley? I assume you used Grade 8 hardware to attach it, but I'm paranoid.

BTW, how much did the pulley set you back to start?

      Thanx TL mang.

      the pulley was 62 bux..hardware was 5.40.

maybe the different dampener makes a difference in your case, Pete...I dunno.
but look at the pics..in the 1st 2 pics you can see the water pump and PS pumps are exactly in line but you can't even see the Crank pulley..but in the 2nd one it's visible.

Is there a different pulley you're putting on the alternator, or are you moving the whole thing back a bit?

altho a major contributor(other than mucho hp/tq) is the fast that the tires are getting pretty worn.

I'm moving it to the passenger side, the march bracket I got needs moved forward 1.25in. They dont make a correct bracket to do this with the iron crown vic water pump and crank pulley.

My AC was working for the first summer I had the car and I can count on the fingers of 1 hand how many times I used it. It broke as fall came and I don't miss it...but I'm the type of person that likes hot weather....I get cold pretty easy.

ok, update...I did a good amount of driving today...belt is holding up just fine. My gauges are telling me that the motor is feeling good...not running a fever or anything . it was pretty warm out today and the temp stayed below 195*.
I don't know if y'all noticed, but when I switched ym fan clutch I didn't put the shroud back on...well I think it was making the temp rise even more so I decided to put it back on. Sure was a PITA to put it back on and then tighten up the fan. ugha.
*note to anyone with fan issues. convert to electric fan and save yourself the hassle*

I took another video for ya this morning TL.

Actually not running a fan shroud will make it run hotter. It won't pull air through the radiator as efficiently.

yea I noticed that...the temp normally stays below 195* but when I was driving to Auto Zone to pick up the new belt(short trip, like 2-3 miles), the temp got as high as 210*.(no shroud).
So yea, that's why I went thru the hassle of putting the shroud back on...wasn't easy to get my arms around the pulleys to tighten up that fan...whew..ugha...but now it's done and it works just fine.

I went for a drive to my buddy's place this afternoon and the Temp got no higher than 193*..no higher than what it normally gets...it was a godo amoutn of driving..not long but not 5-10mins either...more like 20mins.
.and it was pretty warm out today(high 70s) so I think it's working just fine.

                                Here's a pic I took for y'all.
This shows the bolts I used to correct the pulley's position..thus far, working great.
*please ignore the coolant on top..this pic was taken during an intake manifold swap*
