A SLIGHT probelm with the carb conversion... The manager at the shop where my friend works has decided he doesn't want him working on the car in the shop... he got mad because last night, they left it outside... Which they were SUPPOSED to put it inside... And on top of that... They left it out right near the street... So I went up there last night, and moved it up by the front of the business... and left a note for TREY, the mechanic... but the manager took it upon himself to read it and got mad... So he told Trey he couldn't work on it there... So to heck with the manager... I will NEVER take another car up there... and NEVER tell anyone to go there again... (I have gotten him alot of business) Anyway, I talked to Trey today, and he said he will put it inside tonight... (He had left early, and the manager was supposed to put it inside for him.. then didn't do it, Said it wouldn't start.. and that he even tried to jump start it... Yah right...) less than three hours after he closed... I went down there, got in it, turned the key, and it started perfectly... he just didn't bother to move it... figuring "it would be ok out by the road.." What if someone came along and went off the road and hit it? What if someone came along and stole the lightbar off of it??? I am sure if it was HIS car, he would have moved it... So tommorow, I am going to get up around 2:00.. and drive up and pick it up, take it home, and then get a cab back down to get the Vic... I am not even asking them any help to get back up there to get my car... I'm not mad a Trey... it wasn't his fault... So AFTER my surgery now... I will try to get the other mechanic I use to do the work... So I have wasted about 2 weeks... 3 weeks including the week I will be down for the surgery.... Having Kevin do it will be about $300.00 more... but at least Kevin will get it done... AND... The car has been sitting there since last week when I took it in... And NOTHING has been done on it... Every time Trey started to work on it, the manager found something else for him to do.. At least Kevin will get right on it... and not daly around.. and he will park it inside at night!! Just pisses me off that it is going to cost me $300.00 more... $300.00 that I don't want to spend right now! (I still have to spend around $375.00 for A/C, and $600.00 or more for paint.. and about $400.00 for tires...

So it may be cheaper to get the 91 painted... and just take it to the Chicago car show... This REALLY pisses me off!

Custom work is costly and/or a hassle to get done... 300 extra bux isnt too much more to pay for something like a carbswap...

Yah, but I didn't need to pay $300.00 extra right now... since I have so much other things to do to get the car "show ready"!!! The $300.00 could have paid for the tires, or the A/C work.... Oh, well, I can always take the 91.... It only needs paint... Which my friend can do in about 2 weeks... and cost less than what is was going to cost to finish the 84... But we'll see what happens.....

Well, I may just re-paint the 91... and take it... And I may get new decals done for it... trying to decide whether to show it as an Escambia County Sheriffs Office unit (what it was to begin with) Or Pensacola Beach Fire dept. Fire Chief's car... (Which it was used as second...) Decisions decisions.....

            It needs--- (To be perfect)
            Paint Job
            Windows tinted
            new shocks
new decals... The present ones are getting sort of tattered, after showing the car for three years... Besides.. If I show it as a Sheriff's Office... needs different decals anyway.

I can get this stuff done in a couple of weeks... Just depends on what happens with the 84....

I know of only FOUR still running...and mine is one of them.... I don't know the exact production numbers, but they were only produced for two years... 1984 and 1985...

Most of the cars went to either cab companies, or hot rodders bought them for the engines.... So most are long gone...

And people wonder why I keep mine!!! (Besides the fact it like my old patrol car.... )

It is a police car package... not the LX???
Does the car in the junkyard have the rubber carpets? And what shape are they if it does? (ripped, torn, holes in them) Any police equipment, (cage?) If your out there again.... Could you take some pictures? And the phone number for the place??? I have been trying to find one somewhere to get parts off of, if I need some.... And it is impossible to find one!

                    Tom...
