Your XE264 is not much of a step above a HO camshaft. Spinning the tires is not a measure of horsepower although something may be wrong with your setup if you can not do a burnout with a 2400 stall converter.

I can do a burnout. Just flooring it from a standstill will not blow the tires off. A sedan might be able to with my drivetrain. My car is 4400lbs with a lot of weight on the ass end. From a roll it will get squirrley though. The 255/50/17's kill the gearing quite a bit, 275/40 drag radials are much easier to spin and the car really accelerates with them.

I don't know how much you've been following the thread... I'm just trying to get the point across that big cams aren't neccesarily going to make the car faster, especially with a stock converter... You need a good combo to get good results.

I'm pretty happy with my setup, I'm torn with the racing I do. Sure, 4.10's would help me melt tires and accelerate, but I already hit the rev limiter in 1st on some autox courses. so 3.55's or 3.31s would be better for that...
