This is why Gadget is a "jewel in the rough". Very good advice here.

I have a factory service manual ($20 at a swap meet), that includes the body/chassis/electrical stuff, as well as powertrain/maintenence. It is very useful, and I've called on it numerous tiomes. I also have the EVTM (which I got off ebay for $10, shipped).

They're on Ebay from time to time, and are affordable. Might be cheaper at a swap meet, but...

Not that those Ford Manuals are crap or anything, Owning both I can say these Chilton's just go far more into the detail of the process.

The manual in question is broken up into Maintenance/Engine Performance & Tune-up/Engine and Engine Overhaul/Emission Controls/Fuel System/Chassis Electrical/Drivetrain/Steering and Suspension/Brakes/ & Body and Trim.

Also has Complete Wiring & Vacuum diagrams for every year up to 88.

Definitely Far from a Beginner manual.

Okay, okay, you're right ... I did refer extensively to the wiring diagrams in my cheap manuals a few times recently whilst trying to reconstruct or troubleshoot important circuits. The scanned EVTM pages I've seen are a lot nicer, but the cheap manuals do contain the basic info.

I just bought a Haynes manual for 88-98 Chevy/GMC trucks. I have yet to use it but I read through some of it and it goes into detail on just about every part of the truck, not a bad 20 bucks spent.
